Cody, a great dog with a bum hip

Cody is an adorable keeshond mix. He's about 3 years old and 40 lbs. Cody is a smart boy and he clearly had lived with a family before - he came from the shelter already housetrained and knowing basic commands like "sit" and some not so basic ones like "shake". He's had a tough time - sometime before he got to the shelter, he was injuried (possibly hit by a car?), then he was at a high kill shelter. Luckily Homeward Trails was able to rescue him and he got adopted but then his injured leg was discovered and he was returned to us and now is with a foster again.
Now Cody is waiting for us to raise the funds needed for the surgery to repair his broken leg - essentially, it will replace the portion that sits in his hip bone.

It's a good thing that Cody has such an engaging, easy going personality. He's rolled with the punches and seems to always have a "smile" on his face. Cody continues to look for his forever home. He is fantastic with cats and great with kids. He will do ok with other dogs if he has a good introduction. You can find out more about Cody by going to his blog which is listed on this one!
